Brief description

In this islet one can observe submarine basaltic flows, layers of marine fossiliferous limestone, contemporary with the pre-emergence phase of the island, during the middle Miocene, as well as subaerial basaltic flows. The islet top is covered by Quaternary aeolianitic deposits. In the submarine flows of the SW slopes, it is possible to observe a mega pillow lava that can is cross-sectioned and shows a radial prismatic disjunction structure. It is also possible to observe fossilized reefs of coral colonies, concentrations of fossilized calcareous algae (rhodoliths) and echinoids (Clypeaster). Like the other islets, it was once connected to the main island.
