The Regional Government, considering t
he importance, specificity and relevance of the geological heritage of the Madeira and Selvagens archipelagos, approved in 2015, through the Regional Secretariat for Environment and Climate Change, the “Strategy for Conservation of the Geological Heritage of the Autonomous Region of Wood". In this strategy, the official Geodiversity website of the Autonomous Region of Madeira is included.
This digital platform aims to publicize the regional geological heritage, with scientific, educational and tourist interest, thus contributing to the appreciation of local geosites.
In this way, the public can easily access technical-scientific content about geological heritage and associated projects.
This initiative has the support of several regional departments with expertise in education, culture and tourism, and is aimed at all of us.
